How far is the studio from Captiva?
About 35 to 45 minutes via the Sanibel Causeway (toll) across Sanibel and US-41 north to South Fort Myers. The studio is at 19451 S Tamiami Trail, Suite 11. Most Captiva clients book both a facial and body treatment to make the drive fully worth it.
How often should I get a body treatment as a Captiva resident or visitor?
Every 4 to 6 weeks for maintenance. Captiva residents and seasonal visitors who spend most of their time on the Gulf or boating often come in monthly. The sustained sun and salt exposure from island living accelerates the skin concerns that regular treatments address.
What is the difference between a body scrub and a body wrap?
A scrub exfoliates: it removes dead skin and surface buildup. A wrap hydrates: product is applied to the skin and you are wrapped to let it deeply absorb. Many Captiva clients alternate between the two each month as part of their ongoing skin routine.
Do I have to be fully undressed?
You undress to your comfort level. Most clients keep underwear on. The treatment area is covered with sheets and only the section being worked on is exposed at any moment.
Will a back facial fix my breakouts?
Most of the time, yes, with consistency. Stubborn back acne usually responds best to a series of 3 to 6 back facials spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, paired with a body wash that has salicylic or mandelic acid. Deeper acne may need a dermatologist referral, which we will tell you honestly if we see it.
Can I bundle a body treatment with a facial?
Yes. Body treatment plus facial is currently 20% off when booked in the same appointment. For Captiva clients making the causeway drive, this combination gets the most out of one visit.
What should I do after a body treatment?
For 24 hours: skip pools, hot tubs, sauna, and direct sun. Avoid exfoliating again or applying retinol on the same areas. Drink water. Apply the body product your esthetician recommends. After 24 hours you are clear to return to normal.
Do you offer massage as a stand-alone service?
Yes. We offer aromatherapy massage, hot stone massage, prenatal massage, and focused back, neck, and shoulder massage as stand-alone services. Call or book online for current availability and pricing.
Do you offer prenatal massage? Is it safe during pregnancy?
Yes. Our prenatal massage is a gentle, side-lying session designed to be safe at any trimester. We use positioning pillows and adapt pressure to whatever is comfortable. Let us know when booking so we can prepare the room.
What is the difference between a regular massage and a hot stone massage?
In a hot stone massage, heated basalt stones are used as an extension of the therapist's hands. The warmth penetrates muscle tissue two to three times deeper than hands alone can reach. You get a deep-tissue-level release with much less soreness the next day.
What is reflexology?
Reflexology applies targeted pressure to specific reflex points on the feet that correspond to organs and systems throughout the body. It is not the same as a foot massage: the pressure points are precise and map to the entire body. The Reflexology Deluxe session includes a warm foot soak and full exfoliation treatment.
