"I want a facial" is rarely what people actually mean. They mean they want their skin to feel hydrated, or look brighter, or stop breaking out, or hold up better in photos at next month's wedding. Every facial does something different. Picking the wrong one is the most common reason people walk out underwhelmed.
This is the guide we use to help Fort Myers clients pick the right treatment, with attention to what Florida heat and humidity does to skin year round.
What this post covers
- Hydrating and signature facials, the everyday workhorses
- Deep cleansing and acne-focused facials
- Chemical peels: superficial, medium, and what they actually do
- Hydrafacial and microneedling compared
- Which facial to pick for which goal, with Florida in mind
Hydrating and Signature Facials
This is the facial most people picture when they say "facial." A 60 to 75 minute appointment with a cleanse, exfoliation, gentle extractions, a customized mask, hydrating serums, and a face and shoulder massage. The goal is healthy, plump, glowing skin. Pricing in Fort Myers runs $90 to $160.
Hydrating facials are the right call once a month for general maintenance, especially in summer when AC indoors and humidity outdoors leave skin perpetually dehydrated. Our signature HydraLuxx facial is in this category and is what we recommend most often for new clients who do not have a specific concern.
Skip a hydrating facial if you have an active breakout, retinoid irritation, or are within two weeks of a major event and want measurable change. For those, the next categories are better.
Deep Cleansing and Acne-Focused Facials
Designed for clogged, congested, oily, or breakout-prone skin. Includes a deeper double-cleanse, longer steam, more thorough extractions, an antibacterial or salicylic-based treatment serum, and a calming mask. 60 to 90 minutes, $100 to $180.
Most clients book deep cleansing every 4 to 6 weeks during a breakout cycle. The trick is to commit for three sessions before judging results. One facial calms the surface. Three facials in sequence reset the underlying congestion. We see this pattern repeatedly with Fort Myers clients in their 20s and 30s who break out from sunscreen and sweat.

Chemical Peels
The word "peel" sounds dramatic. The reality varies wildly. A superficial peel uses light acids (glycolic, lactic, mandelic) at low concentrations. You walk out with slightly tight skin and might experience two to three days of light flaking. Cost is $90 to $150.
A medium peel uses TCA or Jessner solution. Skin actually peels for 5 to 7 days, and the result is a noticeably smoother, brighter, more even tone. Cost is $200 to $400. We do not recommend medium peels for clients in Fort Myers between April and October because daily sun exposure during the healing window can cause hyperpigmentation.
Deep peels (phenol) are not done at our studio. Those require medical supervision and a dermatologist's office.
Peels are the best value if you have visible sun damage, melasma, or post-acne pigmentation. They are not the best for active breakouts, dehydrated skin, or sensitive skin.

Leave your name and phone. We will call you and ask a few questions about your skin, what you have tried, and what you want to fix. We will recommend a starting point with no pressure to book.
Hydrafacial
Hydrafacial is a brand-name treatment that combines exfoliation, painless extraction via vacuum suction, and infusion of hydrating serums in one 45 to 60 minute machine-assisted session. The advantage is consistency, no downtime, and visible glow that holds for about a week.
The disadvantage is that it costs $180 to $280 in our area, and the results are good rather than transformative. If you want one-and-done glow before an event, this is the right call. If you have a real concern (acne, melasma, deep texture issues), a peel or microneedling will move the needle further.
Hydrafacial is also the safest "I do not know what to get" facial because the protocol is the same every time and there is no flaking or recovery. Read our hydrafacial vs chemical peel comparison for the full breakdown.
Microneedling
Microneedling uses a pen with very fine needles to create thousands of tiny controlled punctures in the skin. The skin's healing response builds new collagen for the next 4 to 6 weeks. Real results show after three sessions spaced four weeks apart.
Microneedling is the best treatment we offer for fine lines, acne scarring, large pores, and uneven texture. Cost is $250 to $400 per session. There is 24 to 48 hours of mild redness afterward but no flaking. Our microneedling guide walks through what to expect at each session and what realistic results look like.
Microneedling is not the right call for active acne, broken capillaries, rosacea flare-ups, or pregnancy. We screen for all of those at consultation.
What to Ask Your Esthetician at Consultation
The single biggest difference between a forgettable facial and a transformative one is the conversation that happens in the first five minutes. Most clients walk in, list a few skin concerns, and let the esthetician choose. That works fine for monthly maintenance. For peels, microneedling, or any treatment with downtime, ask these specific questions before you commit.
First, ask which product line we are using and what the active ingredient percentages are. A 20 percent glycolic peel and a 50 percent glycolic peel produce very different results and very different downtime. You deserve to know before you sit in the chair. Second, ask how many sessions are recommended for your specific goal. Texture concerns usually need three to six microneedling sessions spaced four weeks apart. Pigmentation often needs a peel series of three. Anyone who tells you a single appointment will erase years of sun damage in Fort Myers heat is overpromising.
Third, ask what to avoid in the seven days before and after. Retinol, exfoliating acids, waxing, and direct sun all interact with most facial treatments. A good esthetician will hand you a written prep sheet without being asked. Fourth, ask about price for the full series, not just one session. Almost every modality is cheaper per visit when booked as a package, and we will tell you that upfront if you ask.
Picking the Right Facial for Your Goal
For monthly maintenance and general glow: hydrating or signature facial. For active breakouts: deep cleansing in a series of three. For sun damage and pigmentation: superficial peels in winter, hydrafacial in summer. For wrinkles, scars, or texture: microneedling in a series. For "I have an event in 5 days": hydrafacial.
