Most people picture a body wrap as a fluffy spa add-on. It is actually one of the most underrated 60-minute treatments we offer. The combination of warmth, hydration, and pressure does something a regular massage cannot, and Fort Myers clients tend to walk out genuinely surprised.
This is what a wrap actually does, what to expect during the hour, and how to know if it is the right pick for you.

What a body wrap actually is
A body wrap is a treatment where your body is coated in a hydrating, mineral-rich, or detoxifying product, then wrapped in warm cloth or thermal sheets so the product can absorb. You spend most of the hour resting on a heated table while the wrap pulls double duty: it warms muscles, opens pores, and helps the product reach deeper layers of skin than a topical lotion ever could.
The wraps we use at the studio are not the gimmicky weight-loss type that promised inches in the early 2000s. The actual benefits are real and measurable, but they live in hydration, circulation, and recovery, not in fake before-and-after numbers.
The four things 60 minutes can do
Here is what a single session actually delivers, in plain language:
- Deep hydration. Florida heat pulls moisture out of your skin every time you step outside. A wrap drives hydrators back into the top layers, and you can feel the difference for days.
- Better circulation. The warmth and gentle compression open up blood flow, which is why people often feel mentally clearer after a wrap, not just physically softer.
- Soothed sore muscles. If you spent the weekend at the beach, on a paddleboard, or chasing kids around Lakes Park, the warmth alone is worth the hour.
- Smoother, softer skin. The exfoliation step before the wrap lifts dead skin so the product reaches new cells. Your legs and arms feel polished without any harsh scrubbing.
None of this is magic. It is just what happens when warmth, hydration, and a quiet hour come together in one treatment.

How a session unfolds at our Fort Myers studio
Your wrap appointment runs about 60 minutes door to door. You arrive, change into a wrap or undergarments, and rest on a heated table while we exfoliate the body with a gentle scrub. Then we apply the wrap product. This is where the choice matters: hydrating mineral wraps for parched skin, detox clay wraps for clients who feel heavy or bloated, and firming wraps for clients who want a bit of a tightening effect.
Once the product is on, we wrap you in warm sheets, cover you with a thermal blanket, and give you the next 30 minutes of pure stillness. Some clients fall asleep. Others use it as the only quiet hour in their week. Either is fine.
We unwrap, do a quick rinse or wipe down, and finish with a body lotion suited to your skin. You leave with skin that feels softer than it did walking in, which is the whole point.
Who benefits the most from a wrap
Wraps are not for everyone, and we are honest about that. They shine for:
- Anyone with dry, dull, or sun-tired skin from Fort Myers Beach or Sanibel weekends
- Brides and bridesmaids who want soft, glowing skin for photos
- Snowbirds who arrive in Lee County and need their skin to adjust to the climate
- Anyone juggling stress and looking for one hour where nothing is asked of them
- Clients who want a non-invasive complement to facials or massage
If you are pregnant, have open skin conditions, or take medications that affect circulation, tell us at booking. We can adapt the treatment, swap to a hydrating-only option, or recommend a different service that suits you better.
Pairing a wrap with the rest of your visit
A wrap is good on its own and great as part of a longer self-care morning. We often pair them with a facial for full-body and face hydration in one visit, especially during summer when the heat is brutal. If you are coming in for a lash fill or a lash lift, adding a wrap on the front end means you arrive at your lash service already relaxed, which makes the lying-still part easier.
For a deeper look at when wraps fit into a Florida-specific routine, our Florida summer skincare guide covers how to time treatments around the climate so you get the most out of every hour.
What to do before and after
Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of your wrap. Skip heavy lotions and self-tanner for 24 hours before. After the session, keep drinking water, skip the sauna or hot tub for the rest of the day, and avoid intense sun for at least a few hours so your freshly hydrated skin gets a chance to settle.
Most clients book wraps every 4 to 6 weeks during summer and once every couple of months in cooler seasons. A package is usually the most cost-effective way to keep a regular cadence.
Choosing between hydrating, detox, and firming wraps
The wrap product matters as much as the technique. We carry three core options at the studio, and the right one depends on what your skin and body actually need that day.
Hydrating mineral wrap
Our most-booked option, especially in summer. The product is heavy in marine minerals, hyaluronic acid, and aloe. It pulls hydration into the top layers of skin and softens rough patches on elbows, knees, and the backs of arms. This is the wrap to pick if you spent the weekend at the beach, if you have noticed your skin feels tight, or if Florida heat has just dried you out across the board.
Detox clay wrap
The clay wrap uses a kaolin and bentonite blend that draws impurities from the skin while you rest. Clients describe feeling lighter afterward, and the immediate effect on skin tone is noticeable. We recommend it for clients who are coming off travel, a heavy-eating week, or a stretch of poor sleep. It is a reset more than a soothing wrap.
Firming wrap
This option uses caffeine, seaweed extract, and warming herbs to create a temporary tightening effect across thighs, abdomen, and arms. The result is a smoother feel for several days, helpful before a beach weekend or a photo shoot. It is not a weight-loss treatment and we do not market it that way. It is a finishing service that pairs well with regular movement.
Cannot decide? Tell us at booking what you have going on. We have done this enough times to match the right wrap to the right week. Most Lee County clients alternate between hydrating and detox depending on the season, and reserve the firming wrap for specific occasions.
